Governor Resumes

Mike Greenfield

My name is Mike Greenfield and I am Chair of the Board of Governors at Ash Croft & Cottons Farm Federation. As you can see from the photos I enjoy traveling and in particular walking in mountains.  I am married and have four children and at the last count eight grandchildren, all of whom keep me very busy. My wife is a teacher who works in a school in Nottinghamshire keeping me well aware of the trials and tribulations of school life. I also have a dog, a labradoodle, which ensures I have plenty of fresh air and exercise. I was a teacher for innumerable years, highlighted by a spell as Head of a Secondary School in Shanghai although most of the time I was in Primary Schools. I have been Chair of Governors at two previous Derby schools and presently clerk for a number of other Boards of Governors. I have only been a governor at your Federation since September but I am already aware of the distinctive features of the two schools and how hard the staff are working to make sure your children have the best start to a fulfilling educational journey.

Rev. Nigel Elliot

I was born and brought up in Barnsley South Yorkshire. Having worked for the TSB, I then worked in Manchester for the Church of England before being Ordained in 1992. I have worked in 3 parishes before arriving at St Stephen’s in October 2014. Having previously served as a School Governor at 5 different primary Schools, I joined the Governors at Ash Croft and Cottons Farm in 2014. I’m married to Chris; we have 2 daughters [both qualified teachers] and 4 grandchildren. We enjoy walking Charlie our black Labrador, and getting away in our motorhome.
