We are very excited to welcome Miss Harbinson to our 6KM team. Miss Harbinson has been working with Year5, teaching English and Maths!!

It has been a very busy week for 6KM. The children in Year 5 have been looking at motion in settings and describing settings using senses. They have also been investigating speech marks, which they have used to plan a fantasy narrative.

The English lesson in Year 6 has been dominated by SPAG revision. Children have completed two SPAG tests with good results, reviewing their knowledge about: perfect tense, auxiliary verbs, adverbs, adverbials and punctuation. As we know, SATs are just around the corner!

The children in Year 5 have been converting and comparing decimals and fractions. We have also dividing and multiplying using a place value chart.

The children in Year 6 have been deepened their understanding of ratio while solving problems involving proportions and percentages.

Last week we have been describing types of plant’s reproduction and thoroughly studying the build of a flower through discectomy.

We have been researching the Trojan War. The children have been studying Priam’s Treasure found by archaeologists in 1870s and The Iliad written by Homer to gather information in order to retell the story of the Trojan War.
